Ontario Scenario & Members Picnic

Time & Location

NEW DATE - AUG 24, 2024

Porter on the Lake Town Park

Dietz Rd, Youngstown, NY 14174

The Ontario Scenario is BTC's annual triathlon/duathlon event, followed by a family picnic.

This is a beginner-friendly event, intended to give our members the opportunity to experience a "race-like" triathlon environment complete with aspects such as body markings and transition area set-up.  This is NOT intended to be a highly competitive race, but it is suitable for beginners and veterans alike.  It's a great opportunity for our veterans to provide advice and mentoring to our less experienced members.

ALL DETAILS BELOW ARE FROM 2023. UPDATES FORTHCOMING

The transition area will be open at 9:00am and the event starting at 10:00am. The family picnic will begin approximately noon once everyone is done racing. The picnic is open to all BTC members and their families, regardless of whether or not they participate or volunteer for the Ontario Scenario. Even if you only plan to attend the picnic, please submit the registration form (above) for us so we can plan accordingly.

This event will consist of a ~400 meter swim, 13 mile bike, and a ~5km run. We also offer duathlon event with a short run instead of the swim. Distances are approximate. We have a volunteer in a kayak to provide water support. Detailed instructions for the swim/bike/run course will be provided on the day of the event. The courses are usually the same as in previous years. See below for the course maps. The courses will be very simple to follow, and will be clearly marked.

The Ontario Scenario is free to all BTC members and you must RSVP by Thursday August 3rd to guarantee your spot.  You can RSVP online using the link at the top of this web page. If there are spots left, we will register athletes on event morning.

A variety of male and female awards will be given, for both veterans and newcomers. We also have some items to give away as door prizes.

Like any other BTC workout, the roads will be open to traffic so please ride carefully and cautiously.

We are always looking for volunteers to help with this event. If you are interested in volunteering please register as a volunteer if you can help us!

If you have any questions about this event, you can direct them to the events committee.
